"Waew" Saysunee, a Legendary Wheelchair Fencer, Lit the Cauldron to Open the 13th ASEAN Para Games

A key highlight of the opening ceremony for the 13th ASEAN Para Games was the torch relay. It featured "Beam" Chaiwat Rattana, a wheelchair racing athlete from the Cerebral Palsy Sports Association of Thailand; Panom Laksanaprim, a swimmer from the Sports Association for the Blind of Thailand; and "Lukked" Orawan Kaising, a track and field athlete from the Sports Association for Intellectual Disability of Thailand, who participated in the 3-leg torch relay.

They then handed the torch to "Waew" Saysunee Jana, a wheelchair fencer from the Sports Association for the Disabled of Thailand and a five-time Paralympic gold medalist, who served as the final torchbearer and officially lit the cauldron to open the 13th ASEAN Para Games.
