TAT Partners with Major Cineplex to Launch Film Tourism Campaign

Major Cineplex Group and the Tourism Authority of Thailand have launched a campaign to promote domestic tourism by highlighting Thai films. The initiative encourages travelers to visit filming locations in both primary and secondary cities, with chances to win exclusive travel and entertainment prizes from July 22 to September 20, 2026.

Major Cineplex Group Deputy Chief Executive Officer for Advertising Media Narute Jiensnong stated that films naturally highlight local arts, cuisine, and tourist destinations. The campaign seeks to turn movie enthusiasts into ambassadors who promote the beauty of Thailand’s filming locations and inspire broader travel.

TAT Deputy Governor for Marketing Communications Nithee Seeprae added that the strategy targets film audiences to distribute tourism revenue to secondary cities. Encouraging tourists to share images of these locations on social media helps turn on-screen popularity into real travel trends, supporting sustainable economic growth.

To participate, individuals should scan the QR code on the Major Group Facebook page and post a photo of themselves at any Thai film location, such as Suphan Buri from "In the Name of Love" or Kanchanaburi from "Tee Yod." Submissions must include personal impressions and the campaign’s designated hashtags.

The campaign consists of three submission rounds. The first runs from July 22 to August 5, 2026, with winners announced on August 7. The second runs from August 12 to August 26, with winners announced on August 28. The final round is open from September 3 to September 20, with results released on September 25. Each round offers one hotel stay and 100 movie ticket prizes.
