During the State Visit of Their Majesties the King and Queen of Thailand to the French Republic on 30 June and 1 July 2026, Her Royal Highness Princess Sirivannavari Nariratana Rajakanya presented a series of thoughtfully curated ensembles that reflected the harmonious blend of Thailand’s rich textile heritage and the elegance of international haute couture. Through each appearance, Her Royal Highness demonstrated how fashion could serve as a powerful medium for cultural exchange and diplomacy.
Among the highlights was an elegant dress worn during Her Royal Highness’s visit to the Musée des Arts Décoratifs in Paris. The ensemble combined a structured dark navy jersey bodice with a gracefully draped skirt crafted from handwoven Thai Mudmee silk featuring the traditional Lai Taem pattern. Created using handwoven silk by Taweesak Chattuwan of the CHATTUWAN Thai Silk Weaving Group in Roi Et Province, the design beautifully illustrated the dialogue between contemporary fashion and Thailand’s centuries-old weaving traditions, showcasing the enduring artistry of Thai craftsmanship.
For another official engagement, Her Royal Highness appeared in a striking black gown by GIVENCHY, reflecting the timeless sophistication of the French haute couture. The sculptural off-the-shoulder silhouette, impeccable tailoring, and understated diamond jewelry created a look of refined elegance, while the choice of a renowned French fashion house paid tribute to France’s celebrated couture heritage and underscored the enduring friendship between Thailand and France.
Her Royal Highness also wore an elegant ensemble crafted from Thai silk featuring the royal “Sirirajchapatraporn” pattern. Tailored by National Artist Theeraphan Wannarat of Tirapan Couture, the creation highlighted the refinement of Thailand’s royal textile traditions through contemporary tailoring, showcasing the beauty and versatility of Thai silk on the international stage.
Together, these distinctive looks reflected Her Royal Highness’s unique vision of fashion diplomacy—celebrating both Thailand’s cultural heritage and the artistry of global fashion. By seamlessly combining traditional Thai textiles with contemporary couture, Her Royal Highness continues to promote Thailand’s creative excellence while strengthening international appreciation for Thai craftsmanship and cultural identity.
Her Royal Highness’s appearances were complemented by makeup and photography by Phuthada Porndhammachat and hairstyling by Somporn Thirin.
