Neurological Institute Innovates with Advanced Medical Technology Robotic System Reduces Complications in Complex Procedures Thailand's Neurological Institute under the Department of Medical Services has pioneered the use of robotic-assisted brain surgery to treat complex neurological disorders. The technology enhances surgical precision, reduces complication risks, and improves access to safe, modern treatments for patients

The robotic system supports critical procedures such as electrode implantation to pinpoint epilepsy seizure origins, deep brain stimulation for Parkinson’s disease, and high-precision endoscopic brain surgery requiring exceptional accuracy

To date, the robot has successfully treated 56 drug-resistant epilepsy patients with structural brain abnormalities using stereoelectroencephalography (SEEG). Electrodes are implanted to map seizure origins and assess brain function before surgical planning, significantly improving cure rates and restoring patients’ quality of life

Covered under all national healthcare schemes, this advancement positions Thailand as a leader in global neurosurgical care. The technology not only elevates precision but also revitalizes patients’ daily functionality, propelling Thailand’s public health services to world-class standards
