Laem Chabang Port Phase 3 A New Step in the EEC Plan

Laem Chabang Port is in its third phase of development, one of the key infrastructure projects under the Eastern Economic Corridor (EEC) plan. This phase aims to enhance cargo transportation connectivity to the CLMV countries (Cambodia, Laos, Myanmar, Vietnam) and southern China. The progress in this phase will significantly boost cargo transportation capacity and is intended to position Laem Chabang Port as one of the world's leading ports.

Phase 3 includes the construction of five new berths and two rail freight yards, increasing the port's capacity to handle up to 18 million TEUs (twenty-foot equivalent units) per year. Berth F, one of the new berths, is expected to become operational by 2025. Additionally, this phase will introduce automated cargo handling systems to improve efficiency and reduce operational costs.

This development will not only enhance Laem Chabang Port's global competitiveness but also promote trade and investment in Thailand. It will generate revenue and create business opportunities for local entrepreneurs, positioning the port as a central hub for cargo transportation in the Indochina region.

The development of Laem Chabang Port Phase 3 will significantly bolster cargo transportation capabilities, enhancing global market competitiveness. This will serve as a crucial driving force for Thailand's economy and trade in the future.
