AI Fund and OEEC join forces with KBTG to develop AI for Thai children.

On July 18, 2024, the Educational Equity Fund (EEF) collaborated with AI Fund and KBTG (Kasikorn Business-Technology Group) to sign a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) aimed at developing artificial intelligence (AI) technology for education in Thailand. The focus is on integrating AI Assistants to play a significant role in learning, promoting mental health, and serving as companions for children and educational personnel.

This collaboration is supported by key figures in the AI industry, including Mr. Andrew Ng, the founder of AI Fund, and Mr. Ruangroj Poonpol, the chairman of KBTG, who are working together to create new innovations to address educational disparities in Thailand. The primary goal is to utilize AI to enhance teaching and learning, particularly for underprivileged children, allowing them greater access to essential information and resources.

The project begins with a focus on junior high school students who are making critical educational and career decisions. The AI Assistant will serve as a conversational partner, providing guidance and support in learning and skill development, addressing mental health issues, and helping children envision a clearer future and opportunities for self-improvement.

The collaboration between AI Fund, KBTG, and EEF represents a unified effort to improve educational quality and reduce disparities in Thailand by leveraging AI technology to empower all Thai children, ensuring equal access to learning and development opportunities. This marks an important step that everyone should pay attention to.
