Thailand has once again made history by proudly hosting the 6th BIMSTEC Summit, delivering concrete results through six key agreements set to transform the economy and improve Thai lives.
1️⃣ Bangkok Vision 2030 – A master plan to build a prosperous and sustainable region by 2030.
2️⃣ Leaders’ Declaration – Reaffirming commitment to drive BIMSTEC toward shared goals.
3️⃣ New Regulations – Enhancing operational efficiency with clear structural frameworks.
4️⃣ Expert Recommendations – Setting long-term regional development directions.
5️⃣ Maritime Transport Agreement – Boosting South Asia–ASEAN connectivity and cutting logistics costs.
6️⃣ Disaster Relief Statement – Demonstrating unity and support following Myanmar’s earthquake.
These outcomes not only strengthen BIMSTEC but also directly benefit the Thai people through expanded export opportunities, growing investment markets, and increased tourism fueled by cultural cooperation. Additionally, improved disaster management mechanisms will elevate quality of life across the region.
The summit concluded with a strategic partnership agreement with India and eight cooperation accords signed with Nepal, laying the foundation for a new regional economic network. Thailand stands ready to serve as a bridge to continued sustainable prosperity under Bangladesh’s leadership next year.
