“Songkhla” is one of the important tourist cities in the south that still has a touch of the former glory of being an important port on the Malayan Peninsula or the Sating Phra Peninsula with a variety of cultures blending together perfectly. “Songkhla” is another very charming city and has been selected as a special area for sustainable tourism. Community-based tourism in the west of Songkhla Lake Basin covers two provinces, namely
- Songkhla Province consists of 3 groups of community-based tourist attractions: the local fishing community for community tourism, Kayor tourism in Mueang Songkhla district, and Tham Sri Gaysorn Rafting Tourism Club in Rattaphum district.
- Phatthalung Province consists of 14 community-based tourism groups such as Tamot Agrotourism Club in Tamot District, Khuan Khanun Agrotourism Club and Thale Noi Ecotourism Community in Khuan Khanun District, Kong Ra Agrotourism Club in Kong Ra District, Pak Phayun Agrotourism in Pak Phayun District and Phu Pha Song Thale Group in Kong Ra District.
In addition, in the city of Songkhla there are many other tourist attractions.
The first stop was at the Songkhla City Pillar Shrine, the center of Songkhla people over 200 years old. After that, experience Street Art and absorb the atmosphere of the old city, culture, way of life, and the way of life of the people in the community through the paintings displayed on buildings on 3 streets: Nakhon Nok Road, Nakhon Nai Road, and Nang Ngam Road.
Not to be missed is Ban Nakhon Nai, a 100-year-old ancient house built with traditional Chinese architecture and a whitewashed European-style building that has been converted into a local cultural museum telling the story of the past prosperity.
Red Mill (Hub Ho Hin), an old rice mill aged over 100 years, and Fort No. 9 or Ancient Fort, Muang Singkhara, an important archaeological site during the Ayutthaya period, is one of 13 forts located in important strategic locations throughout Songkhla.
Klong Ri Subdistrict Administrative Organization, Sating Phra District, there is also a boat ride to see the islands of the Songkhla Basin cultural area, whether it is Kam Liang Island, a new natural tourist destination, four islands, five islands (Phatthalung District), also known as Bird’s Nest Island which is a source of quality bird's nest that is known in the world, Kra Island is a culturally rich area suitable for nature lovers and camping enthusiasts and a bank of aquatic animals.
