One of Thailand's attractions is its wide range of tourist destinations, particularly in light of the current trend toward Health promotion tourism, which has people paying greater attention to their health. Today, we'd like to share information about another well-known location in Prachin Buri province, the Abhaibhubejhr Thai Traditional Medicine Museum.

This location is regarded as a repository for herbal knowledge, a center for traditional Thai medicine, and a full-service medical facility.

Abhaibhubejhr Thai Traditional Medicine Museum located at Chao Phraya Abhaibhubejhr Building which was built in 1909 by Chao Phraya Abhaibhubejhr (Chum Aphaiwong) in the style of European baroque architecture.

In 1990, the Fine Arts Department announced the registration of this building as a historical site, and received an award for outstanding architecture in the category of buildings from Her Royal Highness Princess Maha Chakri Sirindhorn.

Later in the year 1994 The hospital therefore implemented the project. "Museum of Thai Traditional Medicine" to be a source of education, research, reference and collection of conservation of Thai medicinal textbooks, Thai medicine, folk medicine of Prachin Buri Province.

Inside the museum there is an exhibition room consisting of an introduction room for the Abhaibhubejhr Thai Traditional Medicine Museum, a history room, a royal room, a Thai pharmacy, Pho-Ngern-Abhaibhubejhr Osot, a Thai traditional medicine research clinic, Thai medicine room,  office room, there is also a drug textbook room, ancient textbooks and an exhibition corner of Bunyaratwet Pharmaceutical Factory, the history of the development of Abhaibhubejhr herbs, the central hall, a meeting room and multipurpose room.

The nearby location is a pilot hospital for Thai traditional medicine, providing herbal therapy, massage, steaming, compress and acupuncture by specialists and also processing Thai herbs into medical supplies and cosmetics for sale at affordable prices.

There is also a Health promotion tourism project focusing on learning about holistic health care for the body, mind and society, takes 3 days, the cost of participating in the activity is about 3,500 baht/person (this activity is not available during the rainy season).

Chao Phraya Abhaibhubejhr Hospital located at Tha Ngam Sub-district, Mueang District, Prachin Buri Province The museum is open from the time 08.00 - 16.00 for free.
