The Moral Award: The Exemplary Recognition of Goodness from Individuals, Communities, and Organizations

Publicizing acts of kindness, whether through commendation or awards, encourages the doers and serves as an inspiration for society to promote greater goodness. Today, let's explore one such initiative that seeks to identify exemplary individuals, communities, and organizations for the prestigious "MORAL AWARDS".

The Moral Awards, organized by the Center For Morality Promotion (CMP) in collaboration with the Ministry of Culture, aim to identify and recognize individuals, communities, and organizations that have made significant contributions towards fostering a morally conscious society. This initiative encourages every sector of society to recognize the importance of creating a moral society, starting from individuals and spreading to communities/organizations at a grassroots level, expanding to regional and national levels.

For the Moral Awards 2022 (or 2565 according to the Thai calendar), the selection process was expanded to include a wider range of entities, from government organizations to private businesses and civil society, both at the national and local levels. They are recognized for their moral behavior and contribution to society, making them worthy of admiration, with the aim to communicate, advocate, and propagate their good deeds, providing a guideline for their implementation elsewhere.

The Moral Awards 2022 winners will be announced at the 13th National Morality Assembly on August 31, 2023. A diverse panel of distinguished individuals from various sectors will judge and select the most deserving works and individuals for the awards.

The awards are divided into three categories, with a total of 177 awards:

  • Media Category, split into nine sub-categories including drama, film, short video clips on social media, advertising, music, radio shows, TV shows, print media, and digital media. There are three awards per sub-category, totaling 27 awards. Each winner will receive a commemorative plaque and cash prizes totaling over 150,000 Baht.
  • Individual Category, with 100 awards. Each winner will receive a lapel pin and a certificate of honor.
  • Community and Organization Category, with 50 awards. Each winner will receive a commemorative plaque. This is aimed at encouraging the creation of good deeds within society and setting an example for Thai society, while advocating and spreading the good deeds worthy of recognition, providing guidelines for adaptation and propagation within Thai society.
  • Additionally, the Center For Morality Promotion will collect the stories of the winners to disseminate and propagate them to the public through various channels. They will also recognize these individuals, communities, and organizations in a Hall of Fame on an online platform showcasing the beauty of their good deeds. This platform will also allow the public to share experiences and connect with the goodness exhibited on the platform.
