METAVERSE GO TO SCHOOLS: An Innovation Supporting the Future of Education

    Metaverse, the creation of a virtual world through technology, is becoming increasingly significant in all sectors, including education. By modernizing curricula and creating limitless learning environments, it revolutionizes the educational landscape.

     The Office of Basic Education Commission, Ministry of Education, in collaboration with Rajamangala University of Technology Thanyaburi, has initiated the project "Development of Metaverse Learning Innovation: From Virtual World to Virtual Classroom." This initiative aims to promote and develop innovative knowledge supporting the future of education for teachers at all levels, from primary to secondary education. It enables teachers to apply their knowledge in creating Metaverse-style virtual classrooms or lessons for students, preparing them for the future world.

     The "Development of Metaverse Learning Innovation: From Virtual World to Virtual Classroom" (METAVERSE GO TO SCHOOLS) project thus conducts training programs for teachers and educational personnel under the Office of Basic Education Commission, with a target of 15,000 individuals nationwide.

The curricula in the project include:

  • A course on developing digital instructional media innovations with virtual reality technology using Minecraft Education Edition.
  • A course on integrating instructional media in a virtual world using Metaverse Spatial.

Project Objectives:

  • To develop digital skills for teachers and educational personnel under the Office of Basic Education Commission, enhancing their potential in developing Metaverse-style learning innovation.
  • To enable teachers and educational personnel under the Office of Basic Education Commission to integrate the use of tools in developing Metaverse-style learning innovation into 8 learning core subjects.
  • To enable teachers and educational personnel under the Office of Basic Education Commission to create Metaverse instructional media to increase the effectiveness of teaching and learning, making it more appealing and consistent with 21st-century learning.
