NSTDA Partners with OBEC to Enhance EEC Teachers' Capabilities in Health and Medical Sciences, Aligned with BCG Policy

The National Science and Technology Development Agency (NSTDA) collaborates with the Office of the Basic Education Commission (OBEC) to organize a practical medical and health curriculum training program, aligning with the Bio-Circular-Green (BCG) economy model. By leveraging science, technology, and innovation, this initiative aims to boost the competitiveness of target industries within the Eastern Economic Corridor (EEC), focusing on empowering over 160 teachers from more than 80 leading schools within the EEC special development zone.

The training sessions concentrate on sustainable developments, such as technology and innovation application for enhancing the value of herbs, community quality of life enhancement following the BCG economic model, academic Olympics competition paths, and pursuing medical and medical teaching professions. They also cover learning activities about the human body and immune system for sustainable good health. The relationship between biology, health science, medical science, and the application of genetics to forensic science work is highlighted, including the functioning of muscles, blood vessels, blood components, blood groups, and genetic diseases.

The theme "Medical Genomics: The New Face of Future World Medicine" provides a basic overview of modern medicine focusing on patient care through the application of patient-specific genetic information for accurate and targeted treatment. A deep dive into genetics with the Coronavirus allows for understanding the genetic mechanisms of the Coronavirus and the application of genetic knowledge in developing diagnostic kits and vaccines.

This training event is expected to equip teachers to apply medical and health science in line with the BCG policy, enabling them to expand these applications in future classrooms.
