Statistics of the top 20 countries of international students attending higher education in Thailand

      Over the years, both public and private universities in Thailand have attracted particular interest from international students. In the past five years, in particular, the number of international students has steadily increased.

      In the first semester of the academic year 2022, there were 34,202 international students attending higher education in Thailand. The top 20 countries of international students are as follows:

1. China 21,419 students
2. Myanmar 3,708 students
3. Cambodia 1,443 students
4. Nepal 651 students
5. Vietnam 546 students
6. Laos 538 students
7. The Philippines 460 students
8. India 363 students
9. Indonesia 326 students
10. Bhutan 262 students
11. South Africa 259 students
12. Korea 248 students
13. Japan 243 students
14. Nigeria 228 students
15. USA 205 students
16. Bangladesh 204 students
17. Malaysia 170 students
