Traffy Fondue platform: A solution for city management and a helper for public issue reporting

Traffy Fondue is an application designed for communicating urban issues between the public and the responsible authorities. Citizens can report issues they encounter, such as sanitation problems or sidewalk issues, and monitor the status of their resolution. The authorities receive these problem reports with sufficient data for action, including photographs, location information, and can provide progress updates on issue resolution. This serves as a part of the government service development initiative to fulfill the four-point accessibility model: reachability, inclusivity, location specificity, and individualized service. It has made contact with government agencies faster, fairer, easier, and smarter, thereby enhancing citizens' quality of life.

Traffy Fondue's key features include:

  • The public can participate in reporting and solving urban issues through the mobile application.
  • It acts as a communication channel between the public and responsible authorities.
There's an automatic alert system for problem-solving status updates for responsible parties and followers.
  • A system is in place for officials to manage and monitor issues.
  • Statistical data services are provided to improve efficiency in budgeting and manpower planning.
  • Both governmental and private organizations can establish groups to receive and manage their respective issues.

The Traffy Fondue platform is a digital technology solution that aligns with the work direction of the Office of Public Sector Development Commission (OPDC). The OPDC is currently driving policies to enhance the efficiency of provincial administration to achieve high performance (High Performance Province: HPP) with the aim to strengthen area-based administrative systems to be flexible. They focus on the development of public innovation, digital government systems, open government initiatives, and excellent public services, while emphasizing public participation.

Currently, Traffy Fondue is being used by more than 10,614 agencies, with 10 provinces implementing Traffy Fondue across all their governmental units for public issue reporting. These provinces include Nakhon Ratchasima, Ubon Ratchathani, Khon Kaen, Phayao, Lamphun, Prachin Buri, Phuket, Phetchabun, Samut Prakan, and Saraburi. Additionally, two more provinces, Chiang Mai and Chachoengsao, are preparing to implement it across their jurisdictions.

In Bangkok, there have been more than 271,658 issues reported by citizens, with 197,848 issues already resolved. The most commonly reported issues are regarding roads, sidewalks, flooding, safety, lighting, and cleanliness.

Therefore, "Traffy Fondue" is a crucial platform that enables public participation in urban development and assists in addressing various city issues comprehensively.
