Notification of exportation of fossilized amber or transformed fossilized amber to foreign countries

     For the export of fossilized amber outside the country, it is necessary to inform the Director-General of the Department of Mineral Resources in writing at least 30 days before the shipment or transportation of fossilized amber or transformed fossilized amber, or changed into other forms which are not fossilized amber found in the Kingdom, outside the Kingdom. This should be done according to Tor Thor Jor 3 application. The steps to notify the export of fossilized amber outside Thailand are as follows:

  1. Submit notification using Form Tor Thor Jor 3.
  2. The officer will check the completeness of the documents, a process which takes 1 day.
  3. The officer will consider the facts, status, and purposes of the import notification of fossilized amber into the Kingdom, a process that takes 7 days.
  4. The officer will check the fossilized amber that is exported outside the Kingdom, a process that takes 15 days.
  5. The director of the Fossilized Amber Protection Division will sign the acknowledgment letter Tor Thor Jor 4 and the result notification letter, a process that takes 7 days.

     Submissions can be made at the Conservation and Management of Fossilized Amber Section, Fossilized Amber Protection Division of the Department of Mineral Resources, Gomen Building, 1st Floor, 75/10 Rama VI Road, Thung Phaya Thai Sub-district, Ratchathewi District, Bangkok 10400, telephone number 02-621-9640.

     Services are available from Monday to Friday (except on official holidays), from 08:30 to 16:30 hrs. Alternatively, online submissions can be made through the National Single Window (NSW) system. Officers will review and acknowledge the requests during official working hours, from 08:30 to 16:30 hrs.
