The export of hybrid plants must adhere to the Convention on International Trade in Endangered Species of Wild Fauna and Flora (CITES). This stipulates that a certificate from the exporting country must accompany the plants. By definition, "hybrid plants" refers to plants born from different species' cross-breeding. Their father, mother, or both parents belong to the second schedule plants or plants with ancestors classified under the aforementioned convention as endangered species of wild fauna and flora for export outside the kingdom.
Before the export of hybrid plants can take place, the Department of Agriculture must issue a certificate of export. Requests for such can be made to the CITES Plant Convention Research Group officials, Plant Variety Protection Division.
