Supporting documents for permission to use non-Thai vessels

     The Ministry of Transport issued the Notification Re: Criteria for Considering Permission for Marine Transport Operators to Charter and Use Non-Thai Vessels for Marine Transport. 

     It specifies criteria, methods, and conditions for marine transport operators who hold ownership of Thai vessels to apply for permission for the charter and use of non-Thai vessels to supplement the number of vessels on the routes of their transport business, thus making them eligible to receive the same rights and benefits as Thai vessels during the full period of renting. The documents for applying for permission to use non-Thai vessels are as follows:

  1. The original application for permission to transport goods ordered or imported from abroad by non-Thai vessels (Form Kor Kor Phor 01);
  2. The original purchase order, letter of credit, sale contract, or other documents or evidence declaring the acquisition of goods;
  3. The original evidence on cause and necessity, explaining why the goods cannot be carried by Thai vessels;
  4. The original arrival notice of goods permitted to be carried by non-Thai vessels;
  5. The original bill of lading (B/L);
  6. The original import declaration with excise tax and VAT declaration forms;
  7. The original permission to transport goods ordered or imported from abroad by non-Thai vessels, in case of transshipment;
  8. The original power of attorney (in the case of authorizing others to act on their behalf);
  9. The original company affidavit;
  10. The original identification card;
  11. The original passport (in the case of a foreign applicant).
