Responsibilities of Free Zone Licensees

     A person requesting permission to do business in a Free Zone must apply to the Director-General in the prescribed format, along with documents and evidence, at the Tax Incentives Division, Thai Customs Department. Once the applicant receives a notification of the permit, they must prepare a bond and security contract to cover any potential damages and pay the license and annual fees within 15 days of receiving the notice. After the applicant has completed the bond and security contract and paid the fees, the Director-General will sign and issue the license. Subsequently, the recipient of the license has the following responsibilities:
     1. Prepare a six-month periodic report, according to the format specified by Thai Customs;
     2. Allow Customs officers to inspect the annual inventory count at least once a year;
     3. Placement of collateral
          3.1 In case of risk
               - Imported cars from foreign countries, valued at 5 million baht;
               - Other items in the amount of 1 million baht.
          3.2 In case of operating loss
               - Losses exceeding registered capital must be placed as a guarantee of 3% of the outstanding value;
               - Losses exceeding 50% of the registered capital must be placed as a guarantee of 1% of the outstanding value.
     4. Comply strictly with laws, regulations, and announcements by the Customs Department.
