Customs clearance for importation by land delivery: Tax duty payment

      Import tax duty is a form of tax that the Thai government collects from importers through the Customs clearance process, whether the goods are shipped by sea, land, or air. Import tax duty is collected if the goods have value exceeding a certain limit. According to the laws, if the total value + insurance + freight is more than 1,500 THB, import tax duty must be collected.

      When the Import Entry form is submitted into the system and the number of Import Entry is issued, if the importer has to pay tax duty and Customs fee, there are three streams available:

  1. Self-payment at any Customs payment service by cash, tax card, debit card, credit card, or company check with bank guarantee and approval from Thai Customs;
  2. Use e-Payment (money will be deducted from the importer’s bank account informed to Thai Customs) Payment and the Import Declaration will be recorded in the system;
  3. Use e-Bill Payment (payment may be done by using a Customs document, such as the Import Declaration or payment form with QR code, barcode, or reference number appearing on the document, and pay through a bank, internet banking, ATM, or other form of bank payment service, or pay via official counter service at 7-11 or Big C.

      Goods can be received after payment.
