Documentation to register as a healthcare enterprise: Services for the elderly or dependent persons

     Thailand has officially been an aging society since 2022, and nowadays the younger generation has to struggle to make a living, so they cannot take care of the elderly family members full time. Therefore, elderly care centers play an important role in providing services. Any person or entity that is interested in running an elderly-care service needs to register as an enterprise for taking care of the elderly or dependent persons. This type of business provides a service  that specializes in taking care of elderly or dependent persons, maintaining their health, encouraging them and their families, and helping them with rehabilitation, among other duties that come with taking care of the aged.

Conditions and required documents

  1.  A person who wish to be a facilitator in a healthcare center must be registered under the Healthcare Establishment Act 2016;
  2. Applicants must receive a certificate of healthcare service approved by Department of Health Service Support;
  3. Applicants who wish to be a therapist in a healthcare enterprise (spa, massage, or beauty-related business) need to graduate from institutions, departments or organizations that are approved by Department of Health Service Support.

Required documents

  1. ID card;
  2. Health certificate;
  3. A 1-inch inch photo of neutral face, without cap or glasses, and dressed politely (the photo should not be over six months old);
  4. Certificate of education related to healthcare service;
  5. Certificate (approved by Department of Health Service Support) related to healthcare service. 

     The registration must be submitted via online channel only (www.esta.hss.moph.go.th). The applicant will be informed of the result within 26 days. If there are any reasons for delay, the consideration period will be extended up to two times (each time not over 30 days).
