Customs Clearance for Air Delivery

Goods can be shipped into Thailand by various forms of transport. One of them is by air. Customs clearance procedures for air import are as follows:

     1. Importers/ Customs brokers submit import entry and air waybill to the system. After all documents are verified, they will receive a control number automatically;
     2. The system verifies documents against the reference book in the Profile system, and Import entry will be cut off from the manifest automatically;
     3. The control number is issued. Import Entry status is 0109, which means it is ready for tax payment;
     4. After paying import tax, the Import Entry status is changed to 0209;
     5. There are two codes concerning inspection: (1) Inspection, and (2) No inspection:
          Inspection            

    • Importers will be informed by the system to submit data to a destination warehouse (Import Entry status is 0301);
    • Importers contact warehouse staff;
    • Name of the inspector will be issued by the system automatically.
    • Importers take goods to the officer for inspection;
    • A Customs officer will record data into the system, and the Import Entry status is changed to 0309.

          No inspection

    • Import Entry status is 0309. Data will be sent to warehouse automatically.

     6. Importers contact warehouse staff to receive goods, and the warehouse staff will record data into the system;
     7. Import Entry status is changed to 0409 and the delivery date is stamped;
     8. Importers may take goods out of the warehouse.
