Another development of the BCG-driven mechanism in tourism is the raising of the level of connectivity. The focus is on upgrading public transportation, making sure that all modes of transport are convenient, clean, and safe, and that the entire travel system, from airplanes, cars, boats, and rail systems, is connected. This includes connecting travel to and from tourist attractions in five major tourist cities (Bangkok, Chon Buri, Phuket, Krabi, and Chiang Mai), allowing easy access to tourist attractions and secondary cities or local communities. Also vital is the development of public utilities, such as road networks, roadside accommodation, restrooms, and internet systems, as well as building digital platform systems to create connections between related parties, leading to more cooperation in the development of the tourism industry.
Improvements initially focused on building public transport links between primary and secondary city attractions, improving the high-speed internet system, developing production personnel and the use of digital platforms, and promoting the use of digital platforms to support community tourism.
As for the three-year and five-year plans to expand the transportation system connections to community tourist attractions and the connection of the entire transportation system, supporting digital technology, such as Big Data, virtual reality, and augmented reality, will be used to develop a management plan and create new attractions for tourists.
