Pink Route: Get Up Close with the Blossoming Wild Himalayan Cherry and Campsites in Chiang Mai

Speaking of pink flowers, one must include the wild Himalayan cherry, also known as the Thai Sakura, which blooms in full between January and February each year.

Chiang Mai province is a popular destination for nature-loving tourists wishing to marvel at the beauty of the wild Himalayan cherry.

Highway 1009 between Chom Thong and Doi Inthanon is another recommended location due to the blooming wild Himalayan cherries lining the road. This pink route allows tourists to experience and admire the stunning scenery throughout the journey.

Moreover, the Chom Thong Highway Office in Chiang Mai province also offers a camping area for viewing the wild Himalayan cherries. The site can accommodate about 180-200 tents, making it an impressive camping spot, particularly during the winter season. In addition to the blossoming wild Himalayan cherries, it is surrounded by mountains, and a small stream also runs through it.

In addition to camping facilities for tourists, general visitors can also park to take in the beautiful views and capture memorable photos. The Chom Thong Highway Office is not far from Chiang Mai city, just a one-hour drive, and it is located opposite the Doi Inthanon National Park office, providing services all year round.
