New Landmark "Guava Crape Myrtle Road" - A Romantic Pink on Highway No. 1, Phahonyothin Road

Northern Thailand is not only distinctive for its traditions and cultures but also for the beauty of its nature, forests, and mountains, offering travelers an immersive experience along lush paths filled with large trees. Today, we have a new landmark for those who appreciate the beauty of pink flowers.

"Guava Crape Myrtle Road" is filled with purple-pink flowers lining the length of Highway No. 1 or Phahonyothin Road. The Department of Highways has planted Guava Crape Myrtle trees to beautify the sides of the highway for the enjoyment of commuters and tourists.

The Guava Crape Myrtle on Highway No. 1 or Phahonyothin Road can be found in two locations as follows:

  1. Between Tak and Upper Mae Chiang Rai sections, approximately 35 kilometers, located in Mai Ngam and Tak East Sub-districts of Tak District, Tak Province. This location connects to Lampang Province and also links to the major tourist attractions of Tak Province, such as Bhumibol Dam and Phra That Ban Tak.
  2. From Pratu Chai intersection to Phan, a distance of over 30 kilometers along Phahonyothin Road between Mae Chai District and the city of Phayao, in Phayao Province.

If you wish to experience the beauty of Guava Crape Myrtle adding a splendid touch of pink color on both sides of the road, you should visit during March and April. In addition to providing shade and beauty for road users, the Guava Crape Myrtle trees also serve as a new check-in point for tourists.

The Department of Highways kindly requests the public's cooperation to admire or capture the beauty of the Guava Crape Myrtle safely. Please park your vehicles with care on both sides of the road while taking photographs to prevent traffic congestion and potential accidents, and to avoid obstructing traffic on the highway.
