Issuance of electronic border passes (E-Border Pass) for crossing borders in four countries: Myanmar, Laos, Cambodia, and Malaysia 

     Currently, Thai citizens can easily apply for an electronic border pass (E-Border Pass) to travel to four neighboring countries consisting of Myanmar, Laos, Cambodia, and Malaysia through their mobile phones or computers. 

     Registration for the E-Border Pass can be conducted through the website: https://bpsportal.dopa.go.th/. After completing the registration process, please bring the QR code, barcode, and the received code to the designated office on the appointment date to receive the border pass or temporary border pass.

     Individuals, who are eligible to make a request for an Electronic Border Pass (E-Border Pass), must meet the following qualifications:

     1. Be a Thai national residing in the border areas for no less than 6 months for Myanmar, Laos, and Cambodia and for no less than 1 year for Malaysia, as evidenced by the individual’s household registration.
     2. Live in the areas covered by the agreement between the Government of the Kingdom of Thailand and the Governments of the neighbouring countries on the four sides of the border.

  • For Myanmar, the applicants must reside in the provinces of Chiang Rai, Tak, Kanchanaburi, Prachuap Khiri Khan, and Ranong.
  • For Laos, the applicants must reside in the provinces of Ubon Ratchathani, Mukdahan, Nakhon Phanom, Bueng Kan, Nong Khai, Loei, Uttaradit, Nan, Phayao, and Chiang Rai.
  • For Cambodia, the applicants must reside in the provinces of Si Sa Ket, Surin, Sa Kaeo, Chanthaburi, and Trat.
  • For Malaysia, the applicants must reside in the provinces of Satun, Songkhla, Yala, Narathiwat, and Pattani.

     3. In those cases, in which the applicant is traveling across the border with a child, the child must be under 12 years old.
          Documents required for consideration:
               - One original national identification card.
               - A fee of 200 baht.
          Processing time:
               - In normal cases, in which the applicant submits the request in person at the border pass office, the processing time is approximately 2 days (excluding waiting time).
               - Regarding the online applications for border passes, the processing time is approximately 5 minutes (excluding waiting time).
