Application by foreigners to stay in Thailand for Buddhism education or religious practice

If a foreigner is in Thailand for Buddhism education or religious activities, and the visa is about to expire, they may submit an application to extend their stay in Thailand for a period of not more than 1 year at a time with the following requirements: 

1. They must hold a Non-Immigrant Visa;
2. The request must be approved or confirmed by the National Bureau of Buddhism or the Office of the Prime Minister or Maha Chulalongkorn Rajavidyalaya University or Mahamakut Buddhist University;
3. They must be approved by the abbot of the temple where they are studying or practicing.

Required documents:

1. TM.7 form;
2. Copy of the applicant's passport;
3. Confirmation letter from the National Bureau of Buddhism or the Office of the Prime Minister or Maha Chulalongkorn Rajavidyalaya University or Mahamakut Buddhist University;
3. Confirmation letter from the abbot of the temple where the applicant is studying or performing religious practice.
