Many tourists returned to visit Thailand after the COVID-19 situation began to improve. Airports are the first line of hospitality and services to tourists, including food service, where standards must be held to, because the provision of food services in an airport is one of the ways that passengers judge the airport.
“Clean Food Good Taste” is a project by the Department of Health, Ministry of Public Health, that certifies hygiene standards for restaurants in order to build trust among tourists and other people who come to use the services. The above certification has been granted to 58 restaurants in Suvarnabhumi Airport’s passenger terminal, accounting for 85.29% of the total number of restaurants.
In addition to having good hygiene, it is a good idea for restaurants to add nutritional value with healthy dishes, which will encourage tourists, wherever they come from, to eat clean, safe, and healthy Thai food.
The Department of Health is also planning to expand cooperation to five other airports under the management of Airports of Thailand Public Company Limited in order to elevate the development of restaurants that are ready to reach the level of “Very Good or Clean Food Good Taste Plus,” so that tourists from all over the world can eat Thai food that is clean, safe, and healthy, and to encourage tourists to have confidence in using the service and help drive the Thai economy in the future.
