Have you ever thought of opening a business or not, especially opening a business in a foreign country, what should you do? You need to know which agency to contact, what documents are required, how long and how long the permit application process is, and how to know the progress of the application.
Thailand does not leave these questions to bother both Thai and foreign entrepreneurs, but turned to develop a system to facilitate businesspeople. The government established its service center for businesses or Business Portal under the supervision of the Digital Government Development Agency (Public Organization) or DGA together with the Office of the Public Sector Development Commission (OPDC)
To develop a central platform, which is a collection of information and various services related to business operations in Thailand requiring contacting agencies in the form of One Stop Service, when using the service through this system, they will know the process of submitting an application for business from an agency to contact for certain businesses, documents to be prepared and submitted with an application, fees for operating and opening a business, the time required for the consideration of the officers until the process of obtaining business license. There is also a digital identity verification to support verification of the identity of both Thai and foreign entrepreneurs.
Importantly, with these steps, business people can track all progress through the Biz Portal system and do not have to travel to contact and submit documents by themselves as this system is already connected to all departments, helping to reduce time, reduce steps redundant, without having to submit documents to the agency but self-operation through online system.
For those who wish to open a business in Thailand and wish to use the Biz Portal system, there are 3 easy steps to start using the system:
1. Go to apply for membership at bizportal.go.th
2. Fill in the information to apply for membership
3. Verify the accuracy of the information and receive a password to access the system
Currently, the Biz Portal system provides services for the issuance of certificates, licenses or other documents, totaling 94 licenses in 25 types of businesses in Bangkok and providing 18 licenses in 10 types of businesses in 76 provinces nationwide, which covers applications for new licenses, renewals, amendments or changes and cancellations, as well as upgrading the service of 36 licenses to full digitalization.
