Because one of the trends of world trade is to protect the environment and reduce greenhouse gas emissions as much as possible in order to prevent acute climate change and increased global warming, one of the measures that entrepreneurs in Thailand have turned their attention to is the use of carbon reduction labels on their products, to show that manufacturers in the industrial and service sectors are moving toward a low-carbon economy. As a result, entrepreneurs directly benefit from lower production costs as a result of reducing the consumption of fossil fuels and electricity, together with reducing the amount of waste from the production process.
Once they meet the specified criteria, the carbon reduction mark or label can be attached to the product or published on various media. The validity of the carbon reduction label is three years from being registered. After three years, the company needs to submit documents for permission to register a new label, and the request must be submitted well in advance, over 180 days before the expiration date of the label.
In addition, the rules for terminating the agreement and suspend the use of carbon reduction labels are as follows:
1. A company that has the right to register for the carbon reduction labels goes bankrupt;
2. A company that has the right to register for the carbon reduction labels stops producing registered products;
3. A company that has the right to register for the carbon reduction labels makes a written request to the secretary of the committee to terminate the agreement;
4. A company that has the right to register for the carbon reduction labels applies carbon reduction labels on products that are not registered for a carbon reduction label.
