One-Day Trip on the Community Tourism Route: Ban Prasat in Nakhon Ratchasima

However, some people don't have days to explore and might be interested in community, historical, or archeological tourism. If you’re one of them, we would like to recommend Ban Prasat community for a nice one-day trip.
You can start by visiting the handicraft group of the community, where they weave things from the cat-tail grass that grows along the creeks in the area. The products include bags, shoes, and baskets. They earn extra income by selling these items.
Next, Wat Ban Prasat is a temple that reflects the way of life of the community, and it is the center of the hearts and minds of people who live there.
Continue to Ban Prasat Archeological Center, which is a large archeological site where many ancient items and a cemetery were discovered. You will see the lifestyle of people in the past – around 3,000 years ago – including the ancient Dhavaravati (Dvaravati) and Khmer cultures from over a thousand years ago, and learn how to do rice farming and livestock raising. The center is open on Wednesday-Sunday from 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m., with no entrance fee.
Furthermore, you can watch how to weave Mudmee silk cloth, which is a popular souvenir from Korat, as well as pay respect to the Phu Ta Shrine located under a large tamarind tree, as big around as nine people, which is more than 300 years old. Enjoy the view across the castle’s stream as you stand on the antique Saphan Ta Kon Rak, the Bridge of Love Confession (also known as “Shouting Love Bridge”), and if you’re in the mood, shout out your midnight confession.
