Here, you can perform a ceremony inherited from the ancient Lanna people, which will help to remove your bad luck. It involves making a “Tung,” or a flag, as big as your body. The flag is called Tung Kaa King, and that is a way to remove bad luck and trace your fate, as well as chase away diseases and dangers.
If you are interested in trying to make a Tung by yourself, you can do that at Ban Pra Kerd Community Museum, which is in Wat Pra Kerd. After making your Tung, write down your name, last name, height, and your Chinese zodiac sign, and then give it to the monks, who will pray for your path of fate, so that you live longer, are happier, wealthier, and meet with only good things, according to the beliefs of Lanna people.
It is said that it takes 3-4 days to make a Tung because you have to make a pattern, but the people at Wat Pra Kerd Community have prepared everything for visitors, so that it is relatively easy for anyone who would like to try. They will teach you how to make a Tung and how to decorate it with a face or a picture of your Chinese zodiac sign. It may seem easy at first, but the front and back need to be aligned, so it requires some skills.
