Koh Samui, Surat Thani: A popular destination for Chinese tourists

Ko Samui, Surat Thani, is a popular tourist location for Chinese tourists, thanks to its reputation as a paradise island in the Gulf of Thailand. Temples, religious locations to visit to pay respects to increase prosperity, along with gorgeous beaches, clear sea water, lush natural waterfalls, street-food shopping spots, delicious food, and an immense range of activities – It has it all.

Chaweng Beach, for instance, is the longest shoreline on Koh Samui, at 6 kilometers, and a stroll along it is sure to put a smile on anyone’s face. From the moment the sun rises, tourists can spend their time exploring the outdoors, swimming in the ocean, dining, finding entertainment on the island's beaches, or by renting a vehicle to drive around the island, going snorkeling, or visiting neighboring islands.

After that, they can indulge in the nightlife on Koh Samui, which is just as exciting as anywhere else, and taste the seafood and Thai cuisine that Chinese people already love, like stir-fried crab with curry powder, deep-fried crayfish, large prawns, and sea fish. A one-kilometer-long pedestrian thoroughfare runs parallel to the riverbank in a historic neighborhood, where tourists can sample the area’s cuisine. On either side of the street, stalls selling regional specialties await the perusal of hungry visitors.

Among the coconut groves and community orchards is the beautiful Na Muang waterfall. This area is now recognized as a woodland park, perfect for thrill-seeking tourists.

Anyone wanting to increase their good fortune by visiting a shrine will find plenty on the island. Koh Samui is home to many significant religious sites, including the Big Buddha Temple, Khao Hua Juk Chedi Temple, Laem Suwant Toram Temple or Wat Plai Laem, and the Guan Yu Shrine. It is fair to say that there is a wide range of things for tourists to do.
