Since the reopening of the country, Chinese tourists have been continually traveling to Thailand. However, some social media users have criticized that visiting Thailand is expensive and unsafe. Even though the Embassy in Beijing has previously clarified these issues, misunderstandings still persist. Consequently, the Tourism Authority of Thailand has collaborated with the Royal Thai Police to take care of Chinese tourists and enhance communication channels. This will enable Chinese tourists to access information and report emergencies to the Tourist Police at any time during their visit to Thailand.
This initiative incorporates technology to facilitate communication with tourists through a mobile-friendly system, the Emergency Reporting Center 1155, and the application "Police I lert u", which supports multiple languages. This will allow not only Chinese tourists but also general tourists to seek assistance from the police and feel safe when visiting Thailand.
Simultaneously, the Department of Tourism has advised the Chinese government to promote the use of legally recognized tour companies to prevent scams. These tourists will receive legal protection as stipulated by law. Warning signs and safety brochures have been produced in Chinese. Additionally, Chinese tourists are encouraged to use services from certified establishments such as accommodations, restaurants, and tour transport services that meet the standards of Thai tourism.
