The Ministry of Higher Education, Science, Research, and Innovation (MHESI) is preparing to produce a skilled workforce in key fields through the Sandbox Program. Recently, five new courses have been approved to meet the country’s urgent needs, with plans to implement them by the 2025 academic year, aimed at developing a workforce capable of tackling future challenges.
The newly approved Sandbox programs cover five main fields :
- Semiconductor Engineering Program : This course aims to produce graduates specializing in IC design, semiconductor fabrication, and semiconductor assembly & testing, to support the
- K-Engineering WiL (Work-integrated Learning) Program : An engineering program emphasizing integrated learning with real-world work experience, allowing students to gain practical work experience before graduation.
- Cybersecurity Program : This course focuses on producing graduates skilled in cybersecurity, supporting the growth of the digital industry and providing an opportunity for career changers to earn a second degree.
- Advanced Biomedical Science and Health Business Innovation Program : This program focuses on developing personnel in future sciences, such as medical devices, pharmaceutical research, and vaccine development, to foster innovation in the medical and health sectors.
- Railway Systems Engineering Program : This program aims to develop professionals specialized in railway systems engineering to support the expansion of railway infrastructures, both domestically and internationally.
These five courses are designed to address the shortage of personnel in key areas and enhance the country's competitiveness on a global scale. All courses will commence in the 2025 academic year.
