The Thai Gaming industry has Soared to Become the Second Leader in Game Development in Southeast Asia.

In recent years, the Thai gaming industry has grown significantly and is increasingly catching the world's attention. Recently, "Virtual SEA," an organization that presents news from the gaming industry in Southeast Asia, reported that in 2024, Thailand has risen to second place in the region on the Steam gaming platform, with 158 games developed by Thai developers, accounting for 20% of all games in the region.

This figure has increased sixfold since 2019, when Thailand was ranked fourth with only 26 games. However, due to continuous development of personnel and higher game standards, Thailand has now surpassed Singapore to become the second leader in game development, only behind Indonesia.

This remarkable growth is attributed to the collaboration of Thai developers, support from both the public and private sectors, as well as the creation of specialized courses and various game competitions that enhance the capabilities of Thai developers. This success not only signals that Thai games have potential but also demonstrates the dedication and relentless commitment of those involved.

In the future, the Thai gaming industry still has ample opportunities for growth and development, especially if it receives additional support across all dimensions. The goal is not only to secure the number one position in the region but also to aim for a place among the global leaders in the gaming industry.
