The Cabinet has approved a budget of over 600 million baht to enhance and develop the healthcare service system, preparing to increase medical equipment across the country.

The Cabinet has approved the budget for the fiscal year 2024, allocating a total of 624.80 million baht from the central budget for emergency or necessary expenses. This funding is designated for the implementation of projects aimed at upgrading and developing health service systems, including the procurement of medical equipment for hospitals under the Ministry of Public Health, such as provincial hospitals that are deemed ready and capable of commencing operations by September 2024.

To be disbursed in the investment budget for equipment, examples of equipment items include: 672 portable telehealth health screening kits, 102 portable high-frequency ultrasound internal organ examination machines that do not require electrical charging, and are equipped with telemedicine systems, 161 automatic cardiac massage and resuscitation devices, and 48 portable volume and pressure-controlled ventilators.
