Research Project "Career Development for Agricultural Drone Service Providers in Chaiyaphum Province" to Accommodate Post-COVID-19 Migrant Workers

The research project "Career Development for Agricultural Drone Service Providers in Chaiyaphum Province" was initiated in response to labor shortages caused by the COVID-19 pandemic, as workers returned to their hometowns. The project saw an opportunity to develop new careers, particularly in agricultural drone services, which can help farmers in Chaiyaphum reduce costs and increase productivity.

The study found that farmers in the area had a high demand for drone services, including chemical spraying and crop care for sugarcane, rice, and cassava. Using drones not only reduced labor costs by 10-14% but also increased yields by up to 30%. The project also developed an online learning platform and digital media to facilitate easy access to operational information for both farmers and drone service providers.

The project's significant outcomes include creating new jobs for locals, increasing farmers' income, and promoting the sustainable use of drone technology in agriculture. It also fostered a learning network in the community and gained support from both governmental and private agencies to extend the use of agricultural drones to other areas continuously.
