Travel calendar (March) – Take a ride on a steam train and return to the old days

        Riding a steam locomotive back in time is an activity that the State Railway of Thailand organizes a few times every year with a special steam train for the public and tourists, so they can be a part of the journey to study Thailand's historical routes, whether it is the route to Phra Nakhon Si Ayutthaya, Chachoengsao, or Nakhon Pathom.

        Each year, it is held only six times, as follows:

- On 26 March, the date of the establishment of the Bangkok-Ayutthaya railway line;

- On 3 June, the birthday of Her Majesty Queen Suthida Bajrasudhabimalalakshana, on the Bangkok - Nakhon Pathom route;

- On 28 July, the birthday of King Vajiralongkorn on the Bangkok-Ayutthaya route;

- On 12 August, Mother’s Day, Bangkok-Chachoengsao route;

- On 23 October, Chulalongkorn Day, Bangkok-Ayutthaya route;

- On 5 December, the birthday of His Majesty King Bhumibol Adulyadej, National Day, and Father's Day, on the Bangkok-Chachoengsao route.

Tourists can travel for about six hours within Ayutthaya Province, then get back on the train and return from Ayutthaya Station at 4:40 p.m. and arrive in Bangkok at 6:55 p.m. Sam Sen, Bang Sue, Bang Khen, Lak Si, Don Mueang, and Rangsit stations all stop picking up and dropping off passengers. Fares for ordinary cars, class 3 and above, are 299 baht for adults and children, and 799 baht for round-trip air-conditioned carriages for adults and children.
