Development of drug and vaccine production infrastructure to support the BCG Model

           The BCG model is a new economic development model that will help drive the country’s economy. Medicine and vaccine production is one of the nine challenging targeted areas and it can benefit all aspects of national development. The BCG model is driven by operational prototyping, mechanisms, and measures. In addition, there are the improvements or proposals of new laws in one-, three- and five-year periods that are necessary to achieve the goal. Achieving the goal requires a number of supporting factors, including infrastructure.

The development of drug and vaccine production infrastructure to support the BCG Model is planned to proceed as follows:

-  Develop and improve the laboratory standards, performance and safety testing systems to meet international standards in order to obtain information for registration;

-  Establish a national agency responsible for national shared facilities, with the aim of centralizing the laboratory service and testing centers in research and development, animal testing, pilot plants, and manufacturing plants in the form of contract development and manufacturing organizations (CDMO);

-  Develop contract research organizations (CRO) to support clinical testing for practical applications in the pharmaceutical and vaccine industries.
