Driving the tourism industry toward sustainability under the BCG model

Development of the BCG driving mechanism in the field of tourism is considered indispensable for driving the tourism industry toward sustainability. Manage the number of tourists in line with the capacity of tourist attractions, systematically monitoring the impact of tourism, preserving and restoring the natural resources and cultural heritage of Thailand, and creating value and Thai brands mean that the country will be ready to promote the economies of communities through the sale of products and services representing the local identity, as a way to create added value and income distribution and to reduce inequality in the locality.

The initial plan focuses on the development of value-added products and services at the local level, accelerating the preparation of a manual and management system for controlling the number of tourists. It also supports the study and selection of tourist attractions, in order to push for GSTC standards for the three-year and five-year plans, and it will expand the areas to apply measures to control the number of tourists; the use of e-ticket, GPS, and application systems will help to solve the problem of real-time tourist clusters, as well as to promote and educate tourists about responsible tourism.
