Change indicators leading to the agricultural BCG Model

       Agriculture will be accelerated and developed and become more robust by using the plan to drive the BCG Model, focusing on quality and sustainable growth, to create a strong economy coupled with a good environment. Key indicators will transform the agricultural sector into a modern agricultural system that is capable of competing on the world stage and attracting foreign investors. The indicators to look for are as follows:

 - GDP in the agricultural sector increases from 1.3 trillion baht to 1.7 trillion baht, with a GDP growth rate of not less than 5 percent, and the proportion of high-value agricultural products and premium products should be not less than 30 percent;

 - Agricultural households increase income by at least 100,000 baht/ household/ year;

 - GAP-certified agricultural produce doubles from the present;

 - The incineration of agricultural waste is reduced to zero for key crops such as sugarcane and rice;

 - Agricultural products are safe;

 - Thailand sets agricultural standards for agricultural products in which Thailand is a leader or is unique;

 - There are sufficient quantities of good-quality basic agricultural inputs, such as seeds, biopesticides, and prophylactic vaccines;

 - Farmers accessing and using knowledge, technology, and innovations in the production of agricultural products will double.

       These factors will enable the development of the agricultural sector under the BCG model in accordance with the vision that will make the country's economy grow with quality and sustainability, as well as increasing incomes for people, and restoring the resource base and biodiversity through the use of knowledge, technology, and innovation.
