How to Buy Train Tickets Online

      Booking train tickets has never been easier. An online ticket booking system eliminates the need for passengers to buy tickets at a train station like in the past. The State Railway of Thailand is open for ticket sales and seat reservations through the website www.dticket.railway.co.th, and passengers can print tickets or save tickets in their phones and then scan a QR Code on the train, which facilitates the journey of passengers

Passengers can also pay by credit card or debit card or Thai welfare card.

      Passengers can buy tickets and reserve seats using the D-Ticket system by themselves up to 30 days in advance, with the following steps:

  1. Go to the website dticket.railway.co.th;
  2. Click Register and fill in the information required (members skip to step 5);
  3. A link will be sent to the email to apply for membership. Click Confirm on that email;
  4. After verifying your identity via email, the membership is considered complete;
  5. Once you have applied for membership or are already a member, select Login;
  6. Enter the train ticket booking page and select the origin, destination, and time;
  7. Click Search;
  8. Select the train;
  9. Fill in passenger information;
  10. Select an available seat;
  11. Enter the payment page and select payment via credit card or debit card;
  12. Print it out or save the ticket on your phone. Your ticket has a QR Code for the staff to scan and confirm your seat.

      The State Railway of Thailand introduced technology to develop a ticketing service system through the D-Ticket application (Android and IOS systems), in which passengers can buy tickets up to 30 days in advance, in addition to buying regular tickets.

      From 16 February 2023, the State Railway of Thailand adjusted the payment method for passengers who book tickets or reserve seats through the D-Ticket website and the D-Ticket app. Payment must be made by credit or debit card only, to allow passengers or those with travel necessities the opportunity to book tickets or reserve seats on that date; the company had encountered a problem because many people reserved seats online but did not use the booking code to pay within the specified time, causing other passengers to lose the opportunity to book tickets.
