Issuing and changing type of visa for foreigners staying in Thailand

         Foreigners staying in Thailand have different purposes. Some wish to travel, while others wish to operate a business or stay during their retirement. If they enter into the Kingdom legally and later, they wish to change the type of visa they have, an application for changing the visa type can be made and it will be considered. Thailand offers 20 types of visas, as follows: 

1. Changing visa for working in a company or limited partnership (Non-B);

2. Changing visa for working as teacher (Non-B);

3. Changing visa for education (Non-ED);

4. Changing visa for fulfilling the duty or responsibility as an immediate family member of a foreigner who is working in a company or limited partnership (Non-O);

5. Changing visa for fulfilling the duty or responsibility as an immediate family member of a foreigner working as a teacher in Thailand (Non-O);

6. Changing visa for providing support to or being a dependant of a Thai citizen (Spouse visa) (Non-O);

7. Changing visa for providing or receiving sponsorship from a Thai national (Child of Thai nationality) (Non-O);

8. Changing visa for providing support to or being a dependant of a person having residency in Thailand (Non-O);

9. Changing visa for retirement purpose – 50 years old (Non-O);

10. Changing visa for working in a state enterprise, public charity organization, international private organization, international chamber of commerce, Thailand Chamber of Commerce, the Federation of Thai Industries, or other foundation (Non-O);

11. Changing visa for being a sports coach (Non-O);

12. Changing visa for monk, nun or priest studying Buddhism or performing religious activities in Thailand (Non-R);

13. Changing visa for the education of priests (ED Code);

14. Changing visa for investing not less than 10,000,000 baht (Non-B);

15. Changing visa for accompanying a person who is fulfills his or her diplomatic or consular duty/ government duty/ educational duty/ scientific research duty/ expert duty in Thailand (Non-O);

16. Changing visa for official government duties (Non-F);

17. Changing visa for performing media duties (Non-M);

18. Changing visa for working as researcher (Non-RS);

19. Changing visa for working as football player (Non-B);

20. Changing visa for a temporary resident visa for a special long-term stay (Non “O-X”).
