The Meteorological Department would like to provide accurate information regarding rumors that have circulated on social media about a large typhoon expected to hit Thailand in the next five days, claiming that this storm will cause Bangkok to flood more severely than in 2011.

The Meteorological Department clarifies that this information has not been verified by any government agency and does not originate from the Meteorological Department. The dissemination of such information may lead to misunderstandings and anxiety among the public. Currently, there is a tropical storm named "Cimaron" moving towards the southern part of Japan, which is not expected to affect Thailand. This storm is projected to weaken and is not have a direct impact on Thailand's weather.

The public is urged to verify information from reliable sources and closely follow weather forecasts published by the Meteorological Department to avoid future misunderstandings.
