From Problem to Opportunity : Wang Tako Reservoir Project Elevates Quality of Life and Mitigates Floods

The Wang Tako Reservoir Project in Khok Charoen District, Lopburi Province, is a Royal Initiative Project driven by the needs of residents in Village 6, Ban Mai Si Ubon, Khok Sam Saen Subdistrict, who experienced water shortages for agriculture and flooding issues.

The Royal Irrigation Department and relevant agencies evaluated the feasibility of constructing the reservoir, which can store up to 298,390 cubic meters of water. This reservoir supports approximately 670 rai of agricultural land and provides a reliable water source for Ban Mai Si Ubon Weir, ensuring water for consumption for about 1,200 people from 300 households in Village 6 and nearby areas.

The reservoir promotes planting during the rainy season on over 900 rai and 300 rai during the dry season. Moreover, it plays a role in flood mitigation, serves as a freshwater fish breeding ground, and is a tourist attraction, all contributing to improving the quality of life for local farmers sustainably.
