Proud Moment! Thailand Ranks in the Top 32 Most Popular Countries for Muslim Tourists

Thailand has achieved a significant milestone, ranking 32nd in the Mastercard-Crescent Rating Global Muslim Travel Index (GMTI) 2024 and 5th among non-Muslim countries (Non-OIC). This recognition reflects Thailand's ongoing efforts to become a welcoming destination for Muslim tourists.

The Thai government is committed to supporting the development of the halal industry in all secrtors, including food, tourism, and fashion, aiming to make Thailand a regional hub for the halal industry. The government fully supports this initiative and has instructed relevant agencies to develop and enhance the halal industry, increasing tourism activities to attract more Muslim tourists.

Thailand is renowned for its beauty and friendliness towards Muslim tourists. The country offers a wide range of halal food options and a multicultural environment that caters to the needs of Muslim tourists.  The continuous implementation of the halal policy, in line with the government's 5-year plan (2024-2028), helps enhance technology and innovation in production, adding value to halal products and promoting trade both domestically and internationally.

The success of Thailand's halal product development policy has solidified the country's position as a top destination for Muslim tourists. The Prime Minister is determined to build on this success by directing relevant agencies to further enhance the country's competitiveness and meet the growing demand for Muslim-friendly tourism.
