Guide for foreign investors and foreign businesspersons wishing to apply for a Thai business visa

        Foreigners who wish to conduct business or undertake investment activities in Thailand must apply for a non-immigrant visa “B” at the Royal Thai Embassy or Royal Thai Consulate-General in their home/residence country or at the designated Royal Thai Embassy or Royal Thai Consulate-General.


Supporting documents for the application are as follows:

1. Passport (valid not less than 6 months); 

2. Completed visa application form; 

3. Recent passport-sized photograph (4x6 cm) of the applicant taken within the past 6 months; 

4. Evidence of adequate finance (20,000 baht for an individual or and 40,000 baht per family); 

5. Letter from the applicant’s company indicating the applicant’s position, length of employment, salary, and purpose of visit (s) to Thailand; 

6. Documents showing correspondence with business partners in Thailand; 

7. Evidence of financial status in the case where the applicant is self-employed; 

8. Letter of invitation from trading or associated partners/companies in Thailand; 

9. Corporate documents of associated partners/companies in Thailand, such as business registration and business license, list of shareholders, company profile, details of business operation, map indicating location of the company, balance sheet, statement of income tax and business tax (PND.50 and PND.30) of the latest year. 


        Consular officers shall request additional documents, or an interview with the applicant, as deemed necessary, without prior notice. Consular officers reserve the right to refuse a visa to an applicant with insufficient documents or if the reasons given are not fully supported.
