Guidelines for driving the pharmaceutical and vaccine industry - Genomics

        The Bio-Circular-Green economic model aims to increase the rate of economic growth and income of the population, create food security, improve health and energy at all levels, and enhance the sustainability of nature and the environment.

        "Genomics medicine," which is a segment of the medicine and vaccine field, has been raised as one of the key strategies, with the goal of enhancing research, technology development, and production innovation, including the development of the potential and readiness of personnel under the improved genomic medical services to create economic value and provide nationwide services. The goals can be described as follows:

  • To promote the creation of the Thailand Genomic Databank and to support a policy development center and a comprehensive medical service industry;
  • To establish a Thai genetic database, a reference database of 50,000 Thai people, and a “big data” analysis system for drug and vaccine development, disease control, and precise medical treatment; the system will have strong data security and a comprehensive privacy policy;
  • To set up infrastructure for genomic services and precision medicine;
  • To establish a policy development center to support the comprehensive medical service industry.

        Genomics medicine and precision medicine are the application of genes, environment, and lifestyle specific to each patient, to discover the process of prevention, diagnosis, and treatment that is most suitable for each patient.
