The Saroch and Waew forest plantation is an ecotourism destination located in the Takhian Tia community, Chonburi Province. This community values nature and has an interesting culture and stories about their ways of life for tourists to learn about. It focuses on the conservation of local resources by adhering to the Sufficiency Economy Philosophy and applying it to real life.
The plantation area covers 7 rai (approximately 2.8 acres) and is planted primarily with coconut trees, as well as various edible and fruit-bearing plants. The owners, Khun Saroch and Khun Waew, have practiced chemical-free agriculture, leading to a mini-forest emerging and creating a shady and rich environment.
There are various tourist activities available in the garden, including trying herbal drinks, demonstrating the “Save the Earth” garbage bin activity to reduce wet waste in households, visiting Ban Roi Sao Museum, decorating cloth bags with local materials, Guasa treatment, a community chef program, and the highlight of the forest plantation – learning about the coconut life cycle. In addition to enjoying fresh coconuts from the garden, visitors can also learn about coconuts cultivated for sale and the production of coconut products, such as cold-pressed coconut oil and tasting delicious coconut coffee with traditional snacks. For adventurous travelers, there is also the opportunity to cycle and explore the “coconut way of life” and converse with locals in the Takhian Tia community.
