Agrotourism – Tak Agricultural Research and Development Center (Doi Muser), Tak Province

       Tak Agricultural Research and Development Center is located at Moo Baan Muser, No. 65, Moo 6, Mae Tho Subdistrict, Mueang District, Tak Province. It is approximately 450 kilometers from Bangkok, accessible by driving along the Tak-Mae Sot Road until reaching the entrance to the Taksin Maharat National Park, where visitors will find the entrance to the research center on the left-hand side. You can easily notice that in front of the entrance there is a strawberry plantation with a sign saying "Arrived at Strawberry Farm."

        Inside the research center, there are conference halls for seminars, and around the grounds, camping is allowed for those who want to experience the cool weather or agrotourism. Orchid and coffee plantations can also be found on the same property. In addition, Moo Baan Muser is also located in the same area, and the atmosphere there still maintains the local lifestyle. The well-preserved houses are made of wood, and the people still wear their traditional costumes. The children still play traditional games, too. During the New Year celebration, lucky visitors can see the locals dressing up in traditional costumes and performing their traditional dances.

     Tak Agricultural Research and Development Center is in charge of developing, testing agricultural technology and providing academic services related to plants for private-sector organizations, various other organizations that are related to farmers, and the public. There are four interesting activities that visitors can see:

  1. Research and development – conducting experimental research on plants;

  2. Produce young plants – coffee, avocados, and flowers;

  3. Meet quality standard agricultural product – registration for Good Agricultural Practices (GAP);

  4. Improve and promote production for farmers – working on Royal Initiative projects.
